Question:

Do you think its best not to know how ur grandfather died?

my granddad died when my dad was a lot younger, and the family doest have any photos or records of him. im afraid to ask more about my granddad because it might recall my dads tragedies, and its terrible to see him depressed, lol. should i find out more on my grandpa? or should i leave the past be?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If I were you I would ask. He is YOUR grandfather after all.
Try catching your dad in a good and quiet mood. Then ask him :"can I ask you something about your dad?" If answers yes then ask him how he died. Or if you don't want to start that way, ask about him, what did he do, how was he like. Questions about him and his personality. If you see that your dad doesn't want to talk about it, or you see that he's having some hard time talking about it, let it go. I think that after a while your dad will talk about him without you asking, since he saw you're interested about knowing about your granddad.
