If I have a SSN how do I find birth info?

I have my grandmother's SSN and I am trying to find her birth or at least christening records.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: you'd have to go to the town clerk's office of where she was born but you might need proof of relation and might not get it right away as you may have to fill out a form for that info to be released to you since you are trying to get the info of someone you are related to but not directly them (if that makes sense to you)
