How can i change my daughter last name?

Long story made short i was dumb and young i have a 2 year old daughter her father is deceased and my problem is that i gave her my ex boyfriend last name how can i go about changing it to her dads name. please respond if you have any suggestions as of where to go and average of the cost.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Go to your local/nearest county courthouse and ask this question...they can help you with what you need to do...they can at least point you in the right direction for the city, county & state you live in and give you an idea of the cost. It could be as simple as proof that her father is deceased [probably right in county records!] and petitioning the court for a name change.
