There are a number of places to look for family members. You can start a reunion site, do a search in YAHOO for "<surname> FAMILY" (your surname and the word FAMILY). That is a real powerful way to find many websites with that surname/family name. You can do that same search, but instead of FAMILY put the word GENFORUM, or go to the GENFORUM site and search for the surname(s). There you will find people to talk to with the name you are interested in, and you can post a message, to people with the name.

If you are researching Genealogy, go to LDS Family Search, or the Vital Records center where the family members were born/married/died (remember genealogy includes deceased family members).
