Beverly D Harris was married to Elaine Lee Harris. They were socialites in New York. Beverly Harris was Vice President in the 1920's for National City Bank. During the Depression, in 1929 he jumped off a building and was killed. Preceding this event he and his wife, Elaine Lee Harris were going through a nasty divorce. Beverly claimed Elaine had negro blood. from a relative Zetta Lee. All charges dropped, Elaine Lee Harris was to receive house and all the money. After Beverly Harris commited suicide in 1929 Beverly Lee Harris was left with nothing. The house was sold, there was no money left and she ended up destitute, no means of supporting herself.Elaine's mother was, Saluda Ann Harris Lee.
