It is not Clift, she was married to a brother of Montgomery Clift. So her maiden name elludes me, after 15 minutes of searching.

Her first marriage was to William Brooks Clift (the brother of the actor Montgomery Clift). They had three children together: Edward Montgomery Clift, Woodbury Blair Clift, and Robert Anderson Clift.

Clift and her husband Tom Brazaitis, co-wrote the book, War Without Bloodshed: The Art of Politics and they are currently working on a new book titled Madam President, about the rise of women in politics and the prospects for women on the national ticket. Her new book, Founding Sisters and the 19th Amendment, tells the story of how women gained the vote."
