How can i find a relative from Ohio on the web?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If your grandfather is deceased, go to the Social Security Death Index, input his name, and you'll get the year of his death, the state in which he received his SS number, and the place where his last benefit was sent.

Then go to www.usgenweb.net/oh to find all the information about genealogical sources in Ohio. There are regional libraries there that have newspaper obituaries as well as death records. If you find that he died in another state, go to www.usgenweb.net and go to that state and look for the same information.

Next go to heritagequest, a website that is accessible via your public library. You can go there to look at census schedules. Your grandfather will be in the 1930 Census. Then you can find out the names of his family.
