Does anyone know how to trace a person who has died years ago?

They know the city and obviously the persons name but how do we go about it?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Let me know who you are looking for (I'll need name, place of birth, year of birth, where they died and the date and I will do a search for you.

Or Go to Ancestry.co.uk and see if they are still offering the free trial period. If they are go to the home page and about half way down there is a link to Birth, marriage and death registers from 1838 to 2004. It wil be a brief info page that comes up and if you want to get hold of the deatch certificate you would have to apply to the place the death was registered and pay a fee.
