Half Blooded Cherokee?

Im a half blooded Cherokee and the other half is African American, and i don't know any of my deceased Cherokee relatives. But I want to know how do I get a cherokee name

They maybe able to help you learn more about your culture and do whatever steps necessary to prove your Native American heritage and maybe become part of the Cheerokee Nation (though I don't know what the steps are). It will come in handy when you go to college because there are alot of grants out there for Native Americans.
