Help me learn about my great aunt please.........read the details?

please help me find some info...my grandparents talk to me about it but they dont know much b/c my grandma's mom and dad says that it is a "touchy" subject...so they dont know too much about it.
my grandmas 3 year old sister drowned in a creek in 1935...the baby was born in 1932 i want to find some newspaper articles on it. i called my grandma and she said that it was a touchy subject for her parents so they didnt talk about it...the only problem is that i dont think they had newspapers b/c they lived "way out in the county"........help me find some history on it or give me some ideas on what i can do to learn more about it.

plus u could try libraries of course....back issues of newspapers...some libraries keep issues dating far back... post some details, and lets see what we can do?
