Question:

There is park in Marshfield, MA named after Peter Igo. Who was Peter Igo and for what was he honored?

The Peter Igo park is primarily a recreation site with some playground areas, a couple of tennis courts and a basketball court. The park also provides access to a canoe launch on the Green Harbor river. A group in Marshfield is hoping to raise funds to rebuild the park and knowing some of the park's history would help. Unfortunately the Marshfield, MA Town Hall's records concerning Peter Igo are incomplete and/or missing. Thanks for your help.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It was probably named after the baseball coach listed at http://www.massbca.com/halloffamemembers... who worked at the St. Clement's Catholic high school in nearby Medford, MA. He was a hall of fame member for 1974. He was president of the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association from 1972-1973.
