Question:

Geneological research in Denmark?

Is there a website like Ancestry.com for Danes? I know a lot names and birthdays, marriage dates. If there is not a website, where should I write. I am looking in Aarhus. Thanks!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Ancestry does have a German site and your membership from the US does work on their site. www.ancestry.de

I've been more successful, though, with the Danish Emigration Archives: http://www.emiarch.dk/home.php3?l=en...

Also very helpful is the DDD (Dansk Demografisk Database) which does have an English interface:

Their church records are intact and most have been either filmed by the LDS or extracted and indexed (even better!). Their probate records are filmed but not readily available in the US. They are, however, available if you either go to the archives or write to the court.

Here's a research guide with all of the addresses and sources you might need: http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/r...
