Question: Do I have a chance as a ballet dancer!?
I'm 15 and I've only been dancing for 2 years and I yearn so badly to be a ballerina but I didn't start at 2 or 4!.
I'm dedicated and I work very hard and I practice consistently but I'm old!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

13 is a bit late to start, but it is not unheard of!. You really can't start ballet (not pre-ballet) until around 7 or 8 years of age when your body is ready!. Many professional ballet dancers start at 10 or 11 and some as late as 12 & 13!. If you are gifted and have the right body, I see no reason why you can't dance professionally!. You should be dancing at least 20 plus hours week if you want to go pro at a really good ballet academy/school!.

*I am really getting tired of people mentioning Sabre from SYTYCD!
She is a gymnast and her dance routines reflect that!. She really has very little technique!. She is not a ballet dancer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

not all great dancers start at a super young age! idk if you watch So You Think You Can Dance, but a few years ago there was a girl on the show named Sabre, and she started dancing her freshman year in highschool, and 4 years later, she won SYTYCD, and she was AMAZINGGGG!.

as long as you are hardworking, driven, and committed to dance, you'll do fabulous =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

So what you don't have to start @ 2 to be good! 2 years is awesome and since you really want to do ballet you will continue to get better!. Everyone has a chance @ what the want to do but to many do not strive to reach their full potential!. Your never to old to do what you want to do!. Think about it when your 18 you will already be 5 years into dance that's alot of time to catch up to the other girls!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I started at three, but only because I thought my mom wanted me to, so I didn't care!. I was awful, but when I decided I wanted to dance and realized my mom didn't (figures-_-) then I became really good!. I started taking more classes and got on pointe a year ago!. I keep improving drastically, and so will you if you're committed!.Starting at a young age doesn't matter, dedication does!. You'll be great as a dancer!Www@QuestionHome@Com

what makes you think you have to start at 2 or 4!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
