Question: What can I do to keep working on dance while I have a hurt knee!?
A few weeks ago I hurt my knee (we are guessing a sprain) during ballet!. I'm a very avid dancer, and since the hurt knee I have found it almost impossible to sit still!. I'm stretching like every extra second, and I'm able to attend a few of my classes but not all of them!. I'm forced to wear a brace while dancing though so the movement of my knee is a bit restricted while I dance!. While I wait for my knee to get better is there anything other then stretching that I can do to help me improve on dance!? I'm finding it almost impossible to not dance, I'm even shopping for dance stuff just to make sure I don't go crazy!!! haha!. Thanks everyone!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Never mess around when it comes to your knee!. Schedule a visit with a doctor or knee specialist and have it looked at!. knee pain is fickle, it could be a lot worse than it seems or nothing at all!. so don't take the risk!. stay off of it as much as possible!.

I was starting MLB for our varsity football team and i hurt my knee!. I didnt think it was bad cause i could still walk and run, it just hurt and would swell up!. So i kept playing until my knee swelled to the size of a melon!. turns out i tore my MCL and hyper stretched all my ligaments!. It required major surgery to repair my knee, which is still not as could as it used to be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know you want to stay fit while you are injured!. But your knee needs to heal properly!. If you rush the process you could make it worse!. Then your chance of healing and dancing again may take you a lot longer!. Go to a therapist, they can help you with the right exercises!. also eat healthy so that you can stay fit, and not gain any weight!. Just Exercise your upper torso, for now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

like everyone else is saying,
you shouldnt dance with a bumbed knee

it worsens your knee
you could possible not dance
or
the healing process would take even longer

i′ll advice you to not to dance because when you mess up your knee now in the furture you wouldnt be able to dance at allWww@QuestionHome@Com

like everyone else said you shouldn't use your knee at all because once you hurt your knee it never heals back to perfect, ecspecially if you move and dance on it!. Why not until it's healed you just work on your arm movements and perfect being graceful and stuff, like work on your upper body!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you dance while being hurt you have a greater chance in not recovering and never dancing again!. but if you find yourself not being able to sit still just stretch but not put pressure on your knees this will also make you a better dancer when you get betterWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well It will be hard but really you shouldn't dance!. You might want to think of taking a week completely off of it!. Your knee will thank you, now your just putting a little strain on it every time and that's not helping!. It may not be getting worse but it's not getting better!. With just a week it will probably feel a lot better!Www@QuestionHome@Com
