ok i took a year off dance this year and want to come back with some tricks!.!.!.i'm a turner my flexibility isn't too bad i can do a split and all but i want to be able to come back with enough flexibility to do tilts and other tricks i'd like some stretches that help other dancers stretch for this!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Moist heat actually helps your muscles to relax, so while you are sitting in a hot bath stretch for a while!.

It does NOT help to bounce in a stretch!. You must hold it for a long time!.

It takes your body 20 minutes before it holds a stretch!.

Inhale and on the exhale deepen slightly to surpass your muscles' natural reflex (As long as your muscle is tense, it won't stretch like you want)Www@QuestionHome@Com

here are some that work really well for me:
stand next to a doorway or empty wall in your house, put one of your feet against the wall and try to slide it upwards as far as you can!. put your hands on the ground to steady yourself

go into one of your splits, without using your hands rotate your legs so that you are now in in a straddle and then again so you are in the other split!.

this one is good for balance and flexibility!. sit on the floor with the soles of your feet together!. grab the inside of one foot and extend it as straight and close to your body as you can!. Repeat with the other leg!. Then when you feel stable, try to do both at once!.

I hope those work, and because they can be kind of intense, do some other streches beforehand to warm up your mucsles so you don't pull/tear anything!. Good luck starting dance again!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Splits, do a middle split and but your arm over your ear and reach to touch your toes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
