Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
-start stretching now!. it'll help in class when you're semi-flexible!.
-make sure you have the right shoes!. they'll probably have jazz shoes!. call to make sure if you need a specific type or not!. (my studio asks for a specific color and type!. not all studios are like that, though)
-your typical class will probably be: stretching, warm ups, floor work!. but if it's later in the dance year, they'll probably be working on routines!. it'll be fine!.
-wear dance tights, shorts, and a shirt/tank top unless they have a specific dress code!.
-be on time, you don't want to be late!. a couple minutes early is best
-try!. you might not get half of what they're saying (i didn't at first) but if you're confused, ask for help and try!. you might even be able to stay after and ask for help!.
Good luck!!! you'll be fine!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i have been taking dance for 10 years now and you will really like jazz!. you might want to stretch a little before you go so when you stretch the first day of dance you won't be as sore!. i would wear a leotard and shorts if you have them!. you will probably cover mostly leaps and turns and stretching techniques!. You will love it! hope this advice helps:) have fun!!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
