Question: How can I keep up with the routine!?
I'm in eighth grade, and every year the eighth graders have some kind of competition night called Gold & White Night (school colors)!. There is one event called "Slimnastics!." It is a combination of dancing/gymnastics/exercise!. I've never really danced but I've done gymnastics on&off when I was younger!. How can I keep up with the other dancers!? Most of the girls have been dancing for a while now!.

I have to say, I'm not bad!. My toe touch is excellent for a beginner!. Do you have any tips for me that I can practice with!?

FOR COUNTS: Every dance is counted in 8 counts!. Good songs are "Money in the Bank" and "Party People" and "So What" and you can tell by just counting (1, 2, 3, 4!.!.!.) and some are 1 AND 2, 3 AND 4 or something like that!.

SHARPNESS: Sharpness just comes from practice!. Do the basics!. High V, Low V, Touchdown, T, Half T, K, R!.

FLEXIBILY: Try stretching 10 minutes after you wake up and before you go to bed every day! Every day! Try the splits, touching your toes standing, putting your legs straight in front of you and putting your nose to your knees!. Simple stretches can go a long way if you work on them long enough!.

RHYTHM: Something that should come naturally and just try doing some cha-cha steps to any music!. Good example would be "You Got a Friend in Me" as a three step count!. (As in left, one-two, right one-two, step one-two, step one-two!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com
