NOT TRUE!
although it maybe better for you to start early you don't have too!.
then the next question is how long will it take to get on pointe after starting ballet!?
there is really no set amount of time!. getting to pointe is all about ankle strengh!. if your instructor feels that after a year or 2 you have good ankle strength you can go to pointe!. it could take 2 years it could take 8!.!.!.who knows!. just work everyday!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You're never too old to learn ballet, even if you may not be able to do everything you perhaps expect or want to do!. I was 12 years old when I started ballet!. I had weak ankles and therefore I was advised not to do en pointe!. The wonderful thing is that I could still attend the classes, do all the movements without going en pointe and really enjoy the dance and expressing myself!. A lot of "modern" ballets don't require to be en pointe and you can still be seen as a good dancer - my teacher told me this when I was 18, many years later!. Don't let it stop you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have a degree in performing arts you are amazingly not too old to get on pointe or start dancing, though it will be harder with age!. As far as muscles, you can develop your muscles more every day, no matter what age you are!. I dance with a lot of people who were never on pointe until they made it to college - age 18-20 (depending on the individual)!.
Start with basic ballet first because you will really need to learn to pull up to protect your ankles 1st and foremost!.

Just know that you can do it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it doent matte how old you are!.!.!.i take dance and last year a 16 year old came or maybe older i just new she had her drivers licson and well she is taking pointe now because she worked like extra hard in her ballet and it doesnt matte what age you start and i am only a year younger then you and i started pointe this year but i have been taking ballet for four years but dont worry about the age or size or whatever anybody can do anykind of dancing as long as they put there heart to itWww@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, you can still get to pointe!. Just keep working at it!.

No, you will probably not be a professional!. Most professional ballerinas have jobs with a Company by the time they're 16 or 17, and have been on pointe since they age of 11 or 12!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

any one can dance and while at this age you may not be able to have a career in ballet, you can most certainly enjoy it! and yes, you will probably be able to go en pointe in a few years!.!.!. but remember, that's not just all there is to the beauty of ballet!Www@QuestionHome@Com

that is totally not true!. Yes it will be a lot harder than if you started younger but i'm sure that if you work very hard and practice all the time you will get to pointe!. Talk to a ballet teacher and maybe she can tell your mom that you can really take lessons!. And be good!Www@QuestionHome@Com

ok a girl at my studios started at 15 and in 3 years she was en pointe!! (had one year off from injure) you do need to be strong to do pointe but definatly do it i did at 13 !!Www@QuestionHome@Com

NOT true!. You can condition your body for anything!. Just work at it! It'll be much harder to form your body to do it, then say, if you were 5, but it can still be done!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i know people who only started as adults!. you might never be a prima ballerina, but you can still enjoy it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It can be done, but you might find it a bit harder and a strain on the old muscles!. But go for it, I loved it!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

thats not true!.!.!. its like anything else you don't have to be young to join u'll just be more expreinced if u start younger!.!.!. but u'll prob be in beginer ballet but thats not badWww@QuestionHome@Com
