Question: I want to learn how to do the splits how many days will it take me to learn!?

i'm a dancer so this one is easy!.
get something sturdy that is about 4-6 inches high (i prefer a block of wood)!.
what you do is put one foot on whatever you are using, and slide into the splits as far as you can go!. keep your hands on the ground for a while just to get used to the stretch!. after that, take your hands off the floor and balance yourself in the splits for as long as you can hold yourself up!.
then, try doing the splits without the object you are using and they should be further down!. keep doing a few times a day for about a week or so and you should get it!.
BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WARM UP BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING! If you don't you could seriously injure yourself!.

It will probably take at least a year of stretching all the time, (like almost every day) to get a good 180 degree split!. It took me at least that long to learn mine when I was starting out with gymnastics!. I would stretch each side split for 30 min almost every night while I did homework and watched TV and then at practice we would do a lot of stretches as well, it takes a LOT of stretching before most people get them so don't give up or get discouraged if you don't get them right away!. It literally took me like a year and a half to two years of constant stretching every day before I had my left side good!. The right side and center were not quite as long but still took about a year to get the full split and I was totally obsessed with stretching and getting them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

oh gosh! it took me ages , a year!

but it might take you less, it depends how naturally flexible you are and how much you practice

a good way to practice is to stretch then to just sit in them while watching telly! because your concentrating on telly you forget your even in the splits!

also just sit in them whenever you can, like while your on the computer put your leg on a nerby desk and every time you go on the computer put an extra book under you foot untill it gets higher and higher and this way you're legs will get used to stretching and soon you will be able to do the splits and lift your legs high up!

Oowch!. Some people were not meant to do it, ever!. I am one of them!. I worked for an hour every day for 2 months, I could get within 8 inches of the floor, but never closer!. I gave up!. But try starting with your legs side to side instead of front to back, its the same stretch but your less likely to lose your balance and tear something!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

warm up, stretch!. for about an hour a day if you want them quick
it'll probably take a few weeks or months, depending on how far down you are
do not overstretch
if you are feeling anything other than a stretch STOP
you might pull a muscle which could set your back even further!.

First thing is do not! rush it take time for people to get into splits!. I would stretch everyday for at least 30 minutes but when stretch stay in that position for a minute to 30 seconds!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

lol, i did martial arts for 2 years, and went 4 times every week!. they made us stretch for literally, an hour, and i still can do the splits:(Www@QuestionHome@Com

some one told me to do abit each day and eventually you'll be flexable enuf to do it!. :-)Www@QuestionHome@Com

take any martial arts class or gymnastics
they will make you stretch everyday so u become flexibleWww@QuestionHome@Com
