If you are talking R!.A!.D syllabus Grade 4 is pretty experienced, or at least not a beginners class - maybe early pointe around 12-15 yrs depending on how 'serious' people are!.

If you are looking to do ballet as a beginner and are mid-late teens i'd see if there are any non-grade beginners classes or adult beginner ballet in your area - otherwise you might end up in a class of 7 year olds or something :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm 13 and started Ballet 2 months ago!. I got put in a grade 3 class to learn basics!. I think teenager under 15 would start there becuase you need to learn technique!. Their mostly 11-year-olds!. 12-15 is the average age for grade 4!. Its starter point so quite strong and extremly good technique!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Grades and levels usually depend on the school!. I know that at my studio Level 4 is the first year of pointe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
