Question: List of pirouette instructions for ballet class!?
For my ballet final, we have to come up with a list of 45 things to include in a pirouette!. this is what I have so far :
Start with a good preparation!.

Have a deep plie!.

Make sure you have enough space between your front and back foot!.

Your weight should be centered!.

Don't let your upper-body slouch!.

Keep your arms up in the correct position!.

Keep your neck elongated!.

Use your deep plie to push you up!.

When turning, think of shooting up rather then turning sideways, it will help your from

falling over!.

In a right turn, your left arm should help you get around (Opposite for left!.)!.

Spot your turn to help you get around!.

Spotting also helps you keep from getting dizzy if you are doing multiple turns!.

Make sure you are very high on your toe, as high as your can go!.

Your supporting leg should be completely straight!.

Your leg (the upper thigh) in passe needs to be parralell to the floor!.

Your toe is passe needs to pointed!.

Your toe also needs to be locked at the inside of your knee, not sticking in front or behind

your leg!.

Keep your shoulders down!.

Keep your arms in the correct position!.

Don't let your fingers spread out!.

Make sure your thumbs are not sticking up!.

Keep your hands close to each other!.

Make sure your arms look like they are holding a beach ball, don't let them bend in

towards your chest too much!.

Keep your stomach pulled in and tight!.

Don't let your behind stick out!.

Make sure your ribs are not sticking out (Don't lean too far forward!.)!.

Make sure your hips are square!.

Finding your center is hard, but once you find it, it is easy to keep your balance!.

Don't sacrifice quality for quanity!. No one wants to see an ugly triple turn!

if anyone has anything else to add to this list i would appreciate it SO much!. Thanks alot !

It looks like you and the first two answers pretty well have it covered!. The only things I would suggest (possibly) would be Begin from fourth position (duh, right!?) and keep your jaw parallel to the floor/keep your chin lifted!. Not sure if that one is paraphrased in something already said or not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You must Relavey (sp)!.
if you do not do this, you cannot strengthen your ankle, and also will mean you are unable to do pirouettes on pointe!.

Hope this helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com

make sure that your leg that isn't in releve is completly turned outwards and not front!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here are some!.!.!.

-Make sure your shoulders don't go up!.
-Make sure your toes aren't sickled!.
-Don't let your feet fall or go to high when in plie!.
-Keep your chin up!.
-Make sure your arms aren't straight out or too close to you!.

Sorry if any of these were already on there!

I hope this helps!.!.Good Luck!!! :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

lift your waist on your standing leg

turn out your standing leg
keep your toes back and heel forward in your passe
try to balance before coming out of your passe
keep your passe lifted and dont let if fall down your leg
