kay so you know what ballet looks like right!? its like twisted ballet!. to help you understand, i will compare modern to ballet!.

in ballet it is all about being lifted!. in modern it is about being grounded!. this is why modern dancers go barefoot and ballerinas wear pointe shoes!.
ballet dances are classical stories and themes with elaborate costuming and props!. modern takes its story inspiration from things that actually happen in peoples life!. they focus on common human emotion!. and the dancers typically wear simple clothing!.
although ballet is passionate, modern takes this to an entirely new level!. you pull from the inside!. her you can dance your anger, fear, or happiness!.
in ballet there are many rules that must always be followed!. you press your shoulders, pointe your feet, straighten your knees, turn out your hips, and square your body!. in modern these qualities are important at times when doing turns and leaps (which are less common, because modern focuses on the movement rather than the technique, but in order to do that one must still possess the technique) but in modern one may flex a foot and turn in!. also the concept of contraction is very important, which comes from the core!.

hope i helped!. :DWww@QuestionHome@Com
