Question: Should I go back to ballet, is it worth it!?
I started ballet when I was 2, and danced until I was 11!.
I did ballet, hip hop, jazz, and tap!.
I quit, and lately I've really been regretting it!.
I'm 14 now; and I was wondering if any of you out there restarted with such a large gap!? I really miss everything about it!.
They always say "Once a dancer; always a dancer" but,
I'm really out of dancing shape now!. What did you guys do to condition!?

Just wondering if it's worth it; or if I should pursue another sport or activity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well take a little while to think about what u remember from your old ballet classes!.!.!.if u seem to remember quite a bit then go for it! but if its hard to remember somethings, you might want to ask the teacher if u can start in a lower level class so you can refresh your memory!. most likely if ur good enough she will move u up anyways!. before you start you dance class, i would do some ab exercises and definitely practice your splits and turnout!.!.!. if u remember how, do some of your old barre combinations!. but, yes i definately think you should start again!. if thats what you want to do, don't let those 3 years stop you!

this is my 13th year dancing, and ive done ballet for 10 consecutive years and stopped!. but my competitive team requires me to take a ballet class and a ballet technique class, and it really has helped me with the other genres of dance i do!. i've done jazz, tap, lyrical and hip hop, but ballet really is the supporting ground of all dance!. plus, if you do it correctly and don't "cheat" the moves, you will get a bigger workout than probably any other dancing you can do!. Yes, you should definitely go back into ballet, whether you will pursue it in college or not!. Ballet is a great sport and will keep you in good shape!.
I would miss dance so much if I did quit, and would get back into it as soon as possible, even if I was out of shape!. There is always time to get back in shape as long as you are dedicated and work hard!.

You should definately go into ballet, but that's really your choice!. Ballet is the fundamental dance for all of them and really helps with all sports!. Stability, Cardio, Endurance , Flexibility, it really covers almost everything you need to be healthy in life!. So ballet would be an eXcellent choice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

that's what happened to me!. I started when i was 6 up untill about 10, but then stopped, and came back at age 12!. I think it IS worth it, if you are up to the time and work put into it!. I just kept stretching and stretching, and i'm also a runner, so i ran every day, which helped too! Eating healthy also helped me stay in shape!. If you wanna get back to being flexible, just KEEP stretching :D
