Question: Getting on pointe/toe shoes!?
I really really want to get on pointe, but the studio owner won't let me because she says I need to get up higher on my toes in demi-pointe/flat shoes!.
Any other suggestions on what to do that will impress her so she will let me get up en pointe!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

One exercise I did that helped the most was this!.

Stand at a bar, with your feet in Parallel!. Start with your right foot
Press to forced arch, make sure while doing this that your pushing your ankle out in front of your foot!. Then point your toes so that they are pointing to the ground as if en pointe!. Make sure you dnon't put any weight on them!. Then press your foot over so that the top of your toes are on the ground!. Then roll back through to forced arch and then roll your foot flat!. Repeat with your left foot in paralell, first, second, fourth and fifth!. Remember in fourth and fifth to repeat it so that your left and right foot can be in front!. After this do lots of releves and pe ques!. Trying to push your ankle out and going all the way up to the ball of your foot!.

also, ask your teacher if you can take a pre-pointe class to help strengthen your ankles!.

But remember, not everyone can go en pointe!. So don't be to disapointed if your teachers says no your not yet!. Just keep trying though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You just need to get more stronger and then you will get higher!.
Something to help with the tendon (maybe) is to squat sit with your toes in releve and slowly stand up and try to straighten your legs as best you can!. I am not sure if this works, but it is worth a try! and make sure you are on/over your big toe!.
I hope you could understand my typing! >DWww@QuestionHome@Com

Ask your teacher!. she must have something she wants to see from you before letting you start pointe!. Ask her how you can acheive what she wants!. Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
