I'm thinking I might take ballet next year for the first time, but I don't know if I'm to tall or not!. Because I'm tall for being 13, and most people confuse me for being in grade 9 or higher, so should I take ballet next year or should I not do it at all!? Because I know most ballet dancers are short (no offence to you that are ballet dancers!) Thank you! (:Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you wanted to go professional, it might be more of a problem, since they want mostly everyone to be the same height, and pointe shoes add about four inches, so you might tower above a man partnering you!. but, every company is different!. some like tall dancers, some (most) prefer shorter dancers!. (but look at someone like Drew Jacoby, she's like, 5'10 and is a gorgious and famous dancer!. you should look her up online) I'm 5'9 and I dance ( and perform, though not professionally) ballet!. I think being tall is beautiful in ballet, because your legs and arms are so nice and long!. It makes your lines beautiful and look like they're going on forever!. go for it! good luck with your dancing!.!.!.because you SHOULD dance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com If you are considering a serious path in ballet dancing, height would be more important than it would be if you were just taking it for fun!. Either way, there is not "too short" or "too tall" heigh in ballet!. Short ballerinas can be easily picked up or do light moves!. Tall ballerinas are able to own that stage with graceful moves that short ballerinas won't be able to carry out!. I'm 5' 6" and my friend in my class is taller than I am!. There is not limit for heigh in ballet!. If you can carry out the moves and if you are commited to spending time on learning ballet, do it!Www@QuestionHome@Com Don't worry about your height!.
