if you hold your split for 1 minute everyday for a week, by the end of the week your split will have dropped 1 inch!. 2 min/day= 2 in/wk, etc!.
this is what my sister told all the girls at her dance studio and now they all either have their splits or have really improved since the beginning!. good luck!. and dont forget to stretch before you do your splits so you dont pull any muscles!.

Take it slowly!. When I was 7 years old, I used to place two chairs to my side and do splits on them (I was influenced by circus performers)!.
For you, gradually you will be flexible enough to place your foot behind your head!
Start with some simple stretches!. Sit and reach!. Go until you feel the strain, then hold it until that strain is gone!. Move up some more!. Repeat!.

Now, do the same for splits!. If you are hardcore, have someone hold your hands and push back your legs while you're sitting down!.
Same method!.

well you have to be flexible!.!. first stretch everyday for at least 30 minutes (sit in front of the tv or something while stretching) one great stretch is lay on the ground feet up, butt against the wall, and bring legs down as close to the floor in a V shape as possible!!hold as long as possible (it hurts but it helped me when i was a cheerleader)Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can't 'learn' it!. You have to practices a lot!. I do ballet and I have to do them everyday just to get down!. You should also do other types of stretches besides the splits, like touching your toes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just go as far as you can everyday!. Soon you'll start going farther everyday and eventually you'll go all the way down!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
