Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Well, it all depends on how serious you are!. If you are just starting out and aren't too much physically I would recommend the tights from Wal-Mart!. Otherwise, there is an awesome tight producer called Body Wrappers and you can find it either at your studio, online, or a local dance supplier!. ~Sophie-AnnWww@QuestionHome@Com There are special ballet dance tights!. They are much thicker than average tights, and alot more durable!. They are also stretchier and more flexible to allow for alot of movement!. They are (for girls) normally pink in colour!. They are alot different to an average pair of tights!. You can get many different brands (Bloch, Capezio, Fiesta etc) You can also get different styles - full footed, convertible, footless etc!. These brands (Bloch, Capezio) etc specially design their tights for dancers with dancers in mind!. They are not regular!. You can find them at dance stores or on dance websites!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I have been dancing for 11years now!. I wear thicker tights for ballet,pointe,tap and jazz!. My dance teacher offers me to buy them from her!. I have went to WalMart before and the tights seem more sheer and rip easily!. Thats just in my perspective!. Sometimes i also wear black leggings over my tan thicker tights its actually very cute looking and easy to move around in!. I say these tights are more durable and dance appropriate!. If you can get a dance magazine the tights in there are good or if your studio will offer them to you i think that would be the best choice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com For my class we have to wear a certain brand of tights, so they are the ones you get from dance stores!. But the ones from walmart for me seem to rip easily and the last thing you want when you are doing a performance is your tights to rip!. So the ones you purchase at a dance store are alittle thicker and they tend to last longer, yes they do cost more money but they are a better quality!. But i guess its all about your preference, of in my case what my teacher says to buy!. :-) hope that helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com If you're a serious ballet student you would only purchase ballet tights, leotards, etc!. made specifically for ballet and some schools require a certain uniform that involve specific brands!.
