Just make sure you're teacher watches you, don't use your shoes at home!.!.!. don't sickle your feet and keep you knees locked straight and you should balance good!.!.!. remember ribs in!!

Best toe protection, for beginners I think is purple gels!.!.!. Leo's brand!. I have them and I love them this is my 2nd year en pointe!.!.!. sheepskin seems to be too thin for beginners!.

well, if you're ready for pointe balancing won't be as hard as you might think it will be, but don't push yourself too hard!
Some tips I have for you are to make sure your shoes are correctly broken in, always engage your stomach muscles when en pointe, and remember that pointe shoes are an extension of your feet, not something to sink into or an excuse to work your feet less than when on demi-pointe!. Don't be discouraged, at first you wont be able to do the same things en pointe as you did on half toe, but with hard work and listening to your teacher I'm sure you wont break any ankles!
For toe protection I use pink gel pads!. They're really easy to find online, at places like discount dance, and they're not too expensive!. They are REALLY comfortable, and they last a long time!. But, before you decide on those for sure, try out some other products (different pads, lambs wool) and see what works for you!

Good luck, and have fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

LOL, besides the fact that there are no tricks in ballet!.!.!.!.well it's just basically technique and strength!. Strong stomach muscles (start doing crunches and/or other ab work) and strong ankles are needed to help you balance and keep from breaking your ankle!. When I first went en pointe, my teacher had me buy actual lamb's wool - I would take a piece of it and wrap it around my toes!. Later on, she moved to be lamb's wool toe pads and then I eventually switched on my own to "Ouch Pouch" toe pads!.

**FYI: I don't recommend this because you're a beginner but just to let you know, professional dancers often use paper towel as toe pads!. It has something to do with feeling the floor - they feel it helps them dance better but I don't suggest trying it until you're WAAAYYY more advanced!.** Hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Honestly like all the basic ballet things are important to remember constantly like holding your core and not getting into the habit of bending your legs but in the end it is mind over matter, it will be really hard at first but like you need to stay positive and think about the outcome and not the pain!. As for inside your shoes, don't use purple gels, they are only good once you are very very good and need them to stop the pain but they will make your training harder because they don't allow you to feel through your shoes which will make it harder to break them in!. I would use ouch pouches or taping your feet!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
