Question: How can i prepare for my Ballet Class!?
Ok so when my mom called the studio they asked if i had ever danced before!. and she said yes, a very long time ago (when i was 4, now i'm 13)!. but the lady registered me for a grade 4 class, and the highest level at the studio for people my age is grade 6 i think!. now i'm going to be thrown into class with people that have been dancing for alot longer than me! and to make matters worse, the term started back in sept!.what can i do to not make a total fool of myself!?

PS: im pretty flexible!. i did gymnastics for 5 years, but stopped like 3 years ago!. i can no longer do the splits, but i still have some of it in me, and im also used to pointed toes

This is the Grading system used at my studio

here's the link to most of the ballet term: http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Glossary_of!.!.!.

for stretches, just practice the splits pretty much each day!. i don't sometimes lol, but i've been really busy lately!. it's good you did take classes before, it's better than never taking them!. do some of the exercises or warmups that you've learned that you remember from gymnastics!. practice crunches, or situps, as many as you can do, and work on it until you can't sit up anymore!. it will hurt!.

practice leg and arm circles also!. for leg circles, you should be in a V-stretch (or straddle) position and remember to ALWAYS keep your knees up and keep toes pointed!. don't sickle your foot ever, and you probably learned that in gymnastics!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

you should try out the first class and if you're finding it's too hard try going into a class that's even younger, like a crash course!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
