for my dancing lessons, i need to know how to do a split, but i cant do splits!. can anyone tell me the quickest way to learn how to do splits and/or websites!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Before you try to work on your flexibility with your splits try a little yoga routine to warm up your muscles!.

What i do: My Choreographer usually places a couple mats (but at home you can use firm cushions) about a foot or two apart depending on the length of your legs!. Then you situate yourself on it in a split with the part below your knee (aka your shin) down on the mats (or cushion) on each side ( basically get in a split but leave your middle area like pelvic region) in the center not on the mats so that gravity can pull you down in the middle (sorry im not good with descriptions lol)!. It WILL hurt ALOT so play some relaxing music to take your mind off the pain!. Do each split and hold it for exactly one minute each day and you will be able to get it farther each time!. For Middle Splits stand against a wall and slide into it and hold it for a minute DO NOT HOLD yourself up i would try and get my elbows to the floor and relax your muscles because it will hurt worse if you tighten your muscles!. DO NOT lean away from the wall make sure your flat against the wall to get your position right!. And do plenty of other excercises as well to keep limber!. HOPE THIS HELPS! : )Www@QuestionHome@Com

The best way to learn is to just stretch your groin and leg muscles really really well!. You can do that by laying on your back and having someone push your legs (one at a time) up and back to you, you can also hold a runners lunge then sit back onto your back leg!. Those help me!.
Try stretching right when you get out of the shower, your muscles are looser then and the move easier!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The easiest way for me, is to sit on the ground in like a stradle position!. and lean to the right, hold it, and same to the left!. and go straight forward!. and hold each one for like 20 seconds!. or more!. and do each side about 4 times!. another one that helps me is the butterfly!. put your legs in!. and then put your nose to your feet!. it helps me alot!. The best thing you can do is to get as close as you can to do the splits and hold it for about 15 seconds, stand up and loosen up, then try again!. Do this about 10 times, and do it every night, you should get closer and closer hope this works for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Make sure you don't hurt yourself trying to do a split when you aren't ready!. Try stretching every night, or even better, every chance you get!. Stretch your hamstrings mostly, and you'll see an improvement!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ok, it's hard but u need to strch every day!. Spread your legs apart and reach out as far as you can have someone push you back down!. also, practise splits then stay in them for as long as possible!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

practice on the staires just like to stretch your legs out!. just stand on your bottom step and then put one leg like a split but going up the stait as far as u can anfd just hold it for a couple miniutes it should help!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ask your instructor, do Yoga, be patient!. Stretch EVERYDAY as often as you can!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stretch 2-3 times a day!. You don't want to go past your limits but meet them exactly, and more stretching than that is unlikely to do any more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
