Question: Pointe Shoe help (toe pads) !?

I just got my first pair at the beginning of September!. Ever since i got them the toe pads have felt really thin compared to my friends'!. They are the cotton kind!. Is anything wrong with that!? if so is there any way to fix it or do i just need new ones!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

i disagree with kari, while gel toepads are more comfortable, for beginners, they are actually alot harder to find the floor!. I suggest OuchPouchs because they seem thin, but have a layer of gel in them!. For beginners you can feel the floor well, but still not have lots of pain!. also, when you start using your pointe shoes more, they will form to your foot and you will find what pair suits you!. When you get to a higher level in pointe, then you can wear gel toe pads!.

I agree with Kari, the only way that you can make the cotton toe pads feel any better would be to put one of those triangle-shaped makeup sponges at the bottom of the shoe before you put on the toe pads!. (Just make sure that the wider end of the sponge is near the outside of the shoe)!. Look at the link below for what they look like!. Good luck and I hope this helps! :D

No, it's more of a preference really!. As a beginner, a thicker toe pad might be preferable - I know that professional dancers like to use only a sheet of paper towel as their toe pads!. I personally used the Ouch Pouches!. It's a personal preference - I liked to feel the floor, it helped me balance better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I understand how you feel!. My first toe pads were cotton and dancing en pointe was a pain!. Then i got these:

i don't know if you have the lambs wool ones but those are the ones i have!. they do thin down because of sweat but i get regular lambs wool and stuff that in the box of my shoe and inside of the pad!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
