If you want to be expressive, ballet is about the least expressive kind of dance there is, of course though, there are different emotions that you can sort of dance in ballet!. Have you ever seen a ballet!? if yes then you know how the dancers are acting while they dance!. they dance emotions and tell storys through dancing!. But in class its more structured and you cant make anything up the teacher will just tell you what to do!. I happen to love it though!. Freestyle you will be able to make up dances which would be quite fun, but of course you want to know what you are doing, and taking ballet would be good so you would know the basics of dance!. xoxoxoxoWww@QuestionHome@Com Well you said you wanted to do something expressive!. Freestyle would be more expressive, but the thing is you get so much technique that you really need for other types of dance from ballet!. So ballet is more structured or whatever, but i would suggest at least starting off with it so you can get a good base, then you can go and do whatever kind of dance you want :)Www@QuestionHome@Com ballet is a very specific form of dance!. it can also be very hard on your body and your feet!. I would learn freestyle!.!.!.I would also check out different places to go partner dancing or swing dancing in your area if you are looking for a good social activity!. If you learn ballet and the basics of dance you should be able to learn freestyle very easily!.
