i know this is a really boring method but PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
i have lots of auditions coming up as well and i find the best way to learn them is just to go line by line!. Read the line out loud three times (it's been proven that three times repetition helps to learn!.!.!. don't know why haha) then move on!. After the second line, go back and repeat the first and second lines together!. After the third line, go back and repeat the first second and third lines together!.
it sounds like it would be time consuming!.!.!. but it's a very reliable method (i think so anyway :D) and i've found it doesn't take that long at all!.
but when you're at the audition!.!.!. don't fret!
you will be amazing and i can guarantee that everyone will be just as!.!.!. if not more!.!.!. nervous than you are!
good luck!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Definitely listen to the first answer, practice is the only way to perfection!. But say you aren't always somewhere where you can practice out loud, you can even read over the lines in your head, so at least your brain will get used to knowing the words!. Then when you get time to practice out loud, do so, so that you can perform it great!

also, try understanding and putting yourself into the lines!. I've never acted or done a monologue, but I've done speeches, and the best ones I've done were when I'd done research I was genuinely interested in, so I invested myself into it and it helped me to retain the information more!. And with dance choreography, it helps me remember it more if I make it my own!.

So practice, read over your lines every day, and commit your whole self to the role!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Practice is the main key to success!. I also suggest that you try to live the part in your mind!. Imagine that you really are that character, play the scene through in your head bit by bit!. Read from your script, then imagine the scenario, and live it in your mind!. Then repeat it, imagining it in your head but speaking the words out loud!. Keep working on it, and develop the appropriate accents and intonation as you go!. When you come to the rehearsals you should be perfect, as the words will be entrenched in your mind! Good luck, it works for me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
