Question: How hard is it to get into Laguardia!? (10 points help!)!?
Laguardia highschool in NYC!. I'm trying out for dance on dec!. 6th!. I'm in 8th grade and my academics are very good and I scored a perfect score on my ELA NYS and a 704 out of 790 on my Math NYS!.
I have been a dancer for 7 years!. How hard will the auditions be!? What should I expect!?
For someone who is currently in the dance program, how good are you!? Is being in laguardia a good experience!?!?
I'm really worried!. What are some things I should definitely look out for and know!?!?!?!

its tough !.!.!.!. but they aren't looking for perfection!.!.!.!.they are looking for potential so they can work with you!. they want to be able to mold you into what they want!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
you will definitely be able to apply from another state as long as you make the audition!. you can only apply as an incoming freshman or sophomore!. the auditions are usually held in November!. (unofficially) the difficulty on getting in depends on what you will be applying for!. art, vocal and instrumental seem to be easier to get into than drama or dance!.
you need to have a portfolio prepared for art and they give you an on site test to make sure the artwork in your portfolio was done by you!. vocal you need a song (like american idol), dance you need to preform a dance, drama you need a monologue and I'm not sure about instrumental!.
they also look at how much training you had before hand!. any training is better than none and looks good!.
for admission, besides the audition, you need to have good grades, a B average or better!. they are really strict on grades!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I would try and contact the school, ask them for guidance, and maybe for a sponsor to help you out!. Don't stress, keep practicing, and get a good night rest before the audition!. Schools are not always looking for the best, they are also looking for people who are eager to learn, people who have a love for the art, and people with good hearts!.
