Question: How can I get a good stretch!?
I've been dancing nearly every form of dance offered at my dance studio and have been very well trained in classical ballet since I was 2 years old!. This coming summer I will be in the ABA for a month and was one of only 6 from my area to be accepted in!. My problem is that I can't stretch anymore! I have all my splits and going down and putting the front leg up on something or the back leg up on something or even both doesn't give me any stretch at all! I'd like to be able to stretch those muscles again and I've tried many heights and have gone to the point where my hip honestly just stopped moving and I STILL can't get a stretch! Leaning over with both my legs straight and flexed or pointed (it doesn't matter) is no stretch to me and my ballet teacher will sit on top of me with all her weight holding me down and it has no affect on me!. Froggy position does nothing for me and I don't know what to do! I would really like a stretch again so any advice would be helpful!. It's been like this since I was very little!. my ballet teacher said that once we are 13 years old, our bones become weaker so it will not go back to the flexibility level that it had before!.!.!.

Umm!.!.!.I suppose the human body must reach a point where it physically cannot stretch anymore!. If you are lucky enough to have reached this point, consider your self blessed!. The rest of us wish we were there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i would try to put your right leg up on the wall and push it all the way up until it is by your head!. see if you get a stretch!. you could also try going up to passe flat and grabbing your foot with your hand and try straightening your leg while trying to get it by your head!. i hope this helps!

oh and btw, don't think that not getting a stretch is a bad thing!. it just means you are flexible! try stretching other areas of your body (such as abs) and see if that does it for you!. girls would kill to be as flexible as you are! (like me for example)Www@QuestionHome@Com
