retire is when you stay in the front or back
passe you draw up the front then down the back :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

retiré ["withdrawn"]!. A position in which the working foot is drawn up to the knee of the supporting leg!. also frequently (and incorrectly) called passé

passé ["passed"]!. A movement in which the pointed foot of the working leg is made to pass the knee of the supporting leg!. Frequently used--incorrectly--as a synonym for retiré!.

retire is the position, and passe is literally "to pass" so it is the bringing of the leg up to retire and then back down the other side, therefore "passing through" the retire position!.
Hope I helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure what a retire is but passe is (while turned out) your foot touches either the back or front of your knee on the other leg!. It's the same position you normally do pirouettes in!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
