Question: When starting Pointe,do your feet hurt!?
I've recently started to do Pointe (Pre) ,I've been doing it for a month now without the shoes!. During the month, I twisted my ankle and the pain comes on and off!.My ankle then felt better and I got the shoes so i decided to practice at home to catch up with the class and every time I use the shoes,my ankle (which was supposedly feeling better) hurts,and I'd soak my feet and rub them,and they'd feel better,and i used them the following day at home,and they started to hurt again!.

P!.S - I practiced on a carpet and I heard that's dangerous,is it true!?!.

Yes; it is DANGEROUS!. You SHOULD NOT use your pointe shoes without a professional or you ballet teacher around!. No practicing at home!. You should NEVER take pointe classes or practice if your ankle or knee hurt!. That can cause a permanent damage!. Talk to your ballet instrutor about your pain!.

I know you are exited about pointe; but safety first!. [;

EDIT: you can use pointe shoes by yourself; but only if you have experience and the correct technique!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well you shouldn't dance on carpet because of friction and higher risk of tripping!. Yes, your feet will hurt for a while, but they will get better eventually!. Soak them in ice and you should wrap your ankles just in case, that's what I always do!. It helps to protect them and keep them straight!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
