I will give you links to some of my playlists at youtube so you cna check out the songs yourself!. The songs in the playlists are not in any particular order so the new and the old are mixed together!.

Maykel Blanco y Salsa mayor is one of the newset groups out of Cuba!. they just celebrated 4 years and have already recorded 2 studio CDs and 1 live CD!. They exploded on the salsa scene in Europe 2006 with the release of Recoge y vete!. In 2007 they released Live desde la casa de la música and this year their 2nd studio CD Anda y pégate!.

Songs that have been particularly popular are!. Esto está, Ella dice, Recoge y vete, Que tengo, La masa, Brujería, Cimarrón, El destino and Anda y pégate!. You can browse through the playlist and try some of these songs out!.

By contrast Elio Revé y su Charangón (also called Orquesta Revé) has been around for over 50 years!. The oldest videos in the playlist only go back to 1987!. I specifically recommend that you listen to la ru?idera and Mi Salsa!. The stuff at the top of the playlist is from the newest CD, fresquecito that wa sreleased in 2007 and won best salsa cd for 2007 in Cuba!.

Los Vna Van is another group that has been around for many yeras and are just as popular today!. they were formed in 1969 by Juan Formell when he left Orquesta Revé to start his own group!. Again the videos at the top are newer and the ones at the bottom date back to 1981!.
I specifically recommend Temba, tumba y timba, Despues de Todo, Sandunguera, Si a una mamita, Somos Cubanos, Llévala a tu vacilón, permiso que llegó van van (the title track from their grammy winning CD from 2000)

Manolito y su trabuco - this band was formed in the late 1990s and always produces quallity songs!. Many of their songs have been covered by groups form Puerto Rico such as El Aguila, Ya para que, El diablo colorao, sacude la mata and Locos por mi Habana (called En Puerterro es donde más yo gozo when Andy Monta?ez covered it)!.

Tú me dijiste mentira is a very popular song and this concert was really great!. A free concert in Havana on January 1, 2005!. Other recommendations: Marcando la distancia, La boda de belén, Loco por tus besos

Pupy y Los Que Son Somn are a break off group from Los Van Van was formed in 2001!. They have some of the hardest hitting songs with the ebst lyrs these days!. Check out the funny song la voluminosa, De la timba a pogoloti, Dicen que divcem Un poquito al revés, Se parece a aquel!.
