Ok, first off, if you want to be a dance teacher, be a dance teacher!. Don't let anyone keep you from your dreams!. Secondly, it all depends on what kind of dance teacher and where you want to teach!. If you are wanting to teach ballet or modern, yes, it would be a very good idea for you to go to college and major in dance!. That way, your students will be getting a better quality experience their study!. It also depends on how serious of a dance studio you are wanting to open someday!.

If you live in the Midwest, Indiana University has a great dance program!. There are also NYU, Point Park University in Pittsburgh, and Oklahoma City University!. And of course, there is always Julliard, which is, of course, the most prestigious art schools there is!.

You can also tryout for dance academys, or companies!. Such as Alvin Ailey in New York, Atlanta Ballet Company, New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and many others!. It all depends on where you want to go and such!.

I hope that helps you sweetie!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi there,

If your teacher said you are strong enough then go for it! Do some core and ankle strengthening exercises (email me if some are needed)!. Grats on being asked to go en pointe already, you must be really strong! As for perfecting your technique, just keep working on your core and ankles, they will help your balance that will help turns, jumps, leaps, and most dance steps!.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!!

I would start with assistant teaching at the studio you dance at!. Ask your teacher if (in younger classes) they need assistant teachers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
