Question: I want to be able to dance like the contestants on So You Think You Can Dance!?
It's my dream to be able to dance as well as they do!. I'm 15 and started taking classes when i was 13!. I started with one class a week then in my second year i took two (jazz ballet) and i'm still taking two!. Should i take more classes!? I've been told i'm a natural dancer but i don't stand out or anything in my classes, any tips on how to improve!? Thanks :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Okay, well I have been dancing since the age of 2 and im now a teenager!. Dance is very hard! Espicially if you dont have the ballerina body, the nice turnout, nice feet and oher things like that!. The contestants from SYTYCD are professionals they have been dancing all their lives, they take at the least 15 hours a week of dancing!. also, they dont only take jazz and tap, to be on SYTYCD like they always say you have to be versatile! You have to be good at everythingand know what you are doing!. Plus, you need to have something special about yourself your personality, your image, hair, clothing, dance style anything to make you stand out!. PERFORMANCE IS KEY! Your emotion in a lyrical dance things like that really help you stand out as a good passionate dancer!.

People have different opinions on competition or competitive group!. Personally I think its a good idea because you get to learn the discipline and have more officient classes then you would have in a recreational group!. You make more friends, get closer to your teachers, get to travel and get more classes to improve!.

At your age, another great thing to do, to improve your style and how you dance is WORKSHOPS! Workshops are absolutely great! You will actually see what is out there!.!.!. the amazing dancers, the choreographers, its just a great experience!. And, sometimes in the faculty there are people from SYTYCD that end up teaching you!. WORKSHOPS = VERY GOOD IDEA!

Well have fun AND NEVER GIVE UP!
