Question: My first ballet lesson, help! What to expect!?
Okay, I'm going to try a ballet class to see how I like it, but the one in my town has ALL levels in it- meaning everyone in it has been dancing since they were 6 or 7!. They don't have a beginners class! The last person to join was more than a year ago, as far as I can tell!.

I have two left feet and my balance isn't great right now because I recently had surgery on my foot!. Simply put, I'm terrified, because I know the woman taking the class is quite sharp!. What will they expect me to do!? I CANNOT try and do ballet drills with experts and look like a total fool!. Will they want me to try and do the same things as eveyone else, or will they break me in easily!?

Please respond if you do ballet, I'd really like to know before I walk in there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First, they should not expect what the others are doing at first!. If they do, go somewhere else!.
You will learn proper stretching and positioning ( with practice ) you will do well!. Don't be so afraid!. Balllet is very good for you!. I don't know how old you are, but stick with it! I am 48 now and only wished I could still do ballet, I was in it for 12 years, 3 months shy of the test to become a teacher! What a da I was!
