It's a matter of getting the right shoe for your feet!.!.!. my dance instructor, a former dancer at the NYC Ballet (for 10 years!) dances on pointe and she has very flat feet!.!.!. she of course needed to train herself well enough so that she was strong and capable, and she needed to find shoes that worked for her by doing trial and error!.

Some people just get lucky and the first pair of shoes they try out works for them - making it seem that anyone that doesn't have feet shaped like them can't dance pointe!.!. but any dancer who is strong enough, healthy, willing and has proper technique, can dance pointe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To go en pointe, you should have a curved foot (or a high arch)!. This is just one of the many factors needed to go en pointe, so do not think just because your foot is very curved means you can just hop right en pointe, please!.

Have a nice day!!

I have flat feet, and I dance en pointe!. I've been dancing since I was 3, and my feet just won't get an arch, I think it's just in my genes!. It's probably harder for me because I have to work harder on getting over the box, but you can still do it!. Good luck! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Okay first of all you would need your instructors consent that you are ready for point!. And if you are you would have to get your pointe shoes fitted!. also, having a flat foot will make it harder to go on pointe!.
you have to work on it though, good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com

you just need to find the correct shoe! and work hard! pointe can be much harder if you have flat feet or weak ankles or if your ankles and feet are extremely flexible! but you just need to find your proper shoe!. your dance teacher will help with that! good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

im on pointe and that is not true you have to dance on flat first your like 7 years i have been dancing for 9 years and i went on point a year early because i was good not because my feet where ready!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, my friend has flat feet, so she'd be hopeless if she wanted to do pointe!. But if you have a nice arch in your feet, then you can!. And you can always work on it!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think that having flat feet is bad for poitne, because I do pointe very well and I have flat feet!. I don't think that the foot shape thing is true so don't worryWww@QuestionHome@Com

as long as you have the strength to carry on through pain you can do it!. i have flat broad feet and i was 'a natural' on pointe (quote from madame)Www@QuestionHome@Com

thats a bunch of crap when people say that! If you want it bad enough; any type of foot can! Just flat feet will be more painful and harder but if you make your ankles strong you can do it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if you have flat feet then you can't (or its very painful and hard), there could be more, but thats all i know of!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't try to judge your own feet, ask your teacher if you are interested in pointe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
