I'm pretty much going through the exact same thing you are! I just started pointe in April and it very rarely ever hurts me!. on a scale of 1-10 like a 8 at the lowest!. I think some peoples feet are just build better and stronger for pointe so you are probably one of those people!. Don't worry about it, maybe ask your teacher if you are doing everything correctly if you are really concerned!. also make sure you are going all the way onto the top of your block, I don't think it will have much of an effect on the pain, but just make sure you do that in every exercise and dance!. As for the popping up onto pointe, you are absolutely correct! The very last thing you want to do is jump up, 1!. it is horrible form 2!. it takes a hard toll on your pointe shoes 3!. it will hurt much more (if you ever feel anything!. lol) you want to go through demi pointe, then all the way up onto your blocks!. And even though it may seem like it would take a long time do go through demi, once you practice it a few times, then it will get faster and it will be much more correct, again I would say ask your teacher if you still do not understand!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

ok!. for one thing, you can't dance when 'popping' up onto pointe(though i'm not sure what you mean by 'popping' onto pointe--at this moment i'm just assuming you mean hopping onto the top of your box)!. not only is it bad for your body, your dancing is not as!.!.!.!.!.!.!. how shall i say it, smooth!. watch any good ballerina and you will see that she does not pop or jump onto pointe (unless required in the choreography, but very rarely esp!. in classical pieces)!.
another thing is that it's a good thing, that your shoes don't hurt!. meaning your shoes [probably] actually fit your feet, and fit them well!. sometimes when there is pain involved, then that means the shoe doesn't fit properly!. either way i would be careful of not not having pain!. if you're not sure, ask your teacher or a more advanced and experienced dancer!. preferably a professional if at all possible!. as you dance more i wouldn't count on staying pain-free though!.

i suggest making sure you roll through half-toe, doing lots of strengthening exercises, and make sure you are aligned properly when you are up!. it may feel more comfortable and easier to pop up, but in the long run it won't help you!.

hope this helps! :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well, some people's feet are built better than others, especially in the case of pointe!. also, having pointe shoes that fit your feet well help to aid in protecting your feet!. I suggest Russian pointe (www!.russianpointe!.com) for helping to fit you with pointe shoes, go online and you'll see what I mean!. :) also, jumping up onto pointe is bad for the shoe, and your feet!. Plus, it isn't the correct technique!. However, since you mentioned that you just recently started pointe, everyone is learning, and being on pointe is an entirely new way of working!. Especially for your feet!. If you're uncomfortable in your shoes, jumping up to pointe would probably be more comfortable too!. Anyways, check with your teacher about your way of doing things, it could also be that they want it done a different way!. It's not bad at all fo your feet not to hurt!. It's a good thing, especially when you start dancing on pointe more!. Always make sure that you roll through to demi pointe and from demi point!. Stretching your feet beforehand is another helpful and beneficial thing to do!. Make sure that you don't have to much padding though!. While keeping your feet pain free is important, you want to be able to "feel the floor", and you can't do that if your feet are overly padded!. In advance though, lol, buy some band-aids!. :) I hope this helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you feel supported by your shoes and they dont hurt, thats ok! As long as they arent being padded so much you cant feel the floor!. Popping up onto pointe is more like a super fast roll up, youre right, they shouldn't be just throwing themselves up!. Sometimes fif you do soemthing fast like eppache its like a quick slide up, but not just like HEEEEEEEY I jumped on pointe lolWww@QuestionHome@Com

that's great if your feet don't hurt! consider yourself one of the lucky few!. : )

popping up is a small jump in a way!. you're pulling your feet under you quickly!.!.!.and most of the time it involves a small (nearly unnoticable) hop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are only 4 people in my pointe class (I'm in Pre-Pointe) and only 1 girl complains!. But I think it's good that your feet don't hurt (I'm not positive, since I just started in Sep!. too)!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
