Typically to teach dance you don't HAVE to do anything really special!. A lot of people open their own studios without having gone to college to major in dance or anything like that!. What counts is experience, quite often!.

one place that you can look into is Dance Masters of America!.

Though, it isn't required that you get any special certification, it certainly looks better for business and you can really learn a lot from it!.

I know Dance Masters of America supports many different genres (I'm currently studying jazz and modern, and planning on getting tested in november)!. What you do is you order their teachers manuals to study by and then you go and get tested at either a convention in your area or sometimes someone on the Chapter board will host testing at their own studio!.

Go to the Dance Masters website and figure out what chapter you're in (it's according to your area) and grab an email address from someone who is on the board for that chapter and ask them for some advice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are several commercial programs out there to train you, but the most popular way is to get a job with one of the chains and have them train you in both the dancing and the business!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
