Question: For dancers: my legs look uneven while in "butterfly" or "bound and angle" position!. Is my hip damaged!?
When I go to dance class and we do the "butterfly" or "bound and angle" position i see that my right leg is lower than the left leg!. My right leg naturally just goes closer to the floor, while my left leg is farther away from the floor!.

I don't feel any pain, it just seems odd that everybody else in my class has their legs and knees at the same height!. And mine are all crooked!.

Do I have a damaged hip joint!? Is it because one leg is more flexible than the other!? Do I have my hip dislocated!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your fine! Your just more flexible on the other leg!. next time you do the excersice put your hands on either knee and put then down equally!. After doing that daily it should help make them better!. MIne used to do that too! don't worry about it! its natural :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm a dancer as well and im exactly the same except with my left leg higher than the right!.
I asked my dance teacher what I should do about it and she said that it is normal for one leg to be more flexible (just like in your side splits, one way is usually easier than the other) don't ask me why this is all i know is that it is!.
You should be able to work on getting your legs even by stretching out your one leg more than your other leg!. You might have also damaged your hip a bit but its definitely not dislocated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

ok i think every dancer has that sort of problem (i know i sumtimes do) my right leg is naturally more flexible than my left so all that means for me is that i need to concentrate more on my left legs flexibility!.!.!.

if you know that you have hurt ur hip in the past i would go get it checked out but other wise i would most probably think that one leg is more flexible than the other!.!.!. no biggy

hope this helped
