Question: What are some characteristic dance styles of the Rock genre of music!?
Say I was to create a compilation of rock songs that would be accompanied by a dance or medley of dances!. What particular dances or songs define or characterize the rock and roll style of music!? It doesn't matter about decade or anything!. It just has to be something danceable, encompassing, and representative of the music!.
Do the Twist comes to mind, along with dances by Elvis and Chuck Berry!.

Well there is group dance such as skanking or slam dancing/mosh!.

Skanking, often for upbeat Ska, uses a motion of skipping like motion in a down ward direction with your hands in a loose and forceful manner!. The pit will open up and do what is called a "skank walk" for people to go through the middle with their own form of running!.

Slam dancing/mosh, often for heavier music, is of course aggressive/forceful motion in either a circle or a zig zag fashion!. A common miss conception is that the idea is violence and hurting people, when in reality it is primal expression and it is commutative!. The point isn't to hurt one another, it is to humanize one another, by breaking social walls such as physical contact!. It feels just as good to be pushed as it does to push!. also, you will often find that people are far more humane to one another in a pit!. When someone falls, every one risk falling them selves to get them back up!. People who drop hats and other articles will most likely get them back because people will hold them up in the air when found to give it back!. How often do you see that in real life!? Would you touch someone who has collapsed on the street without hesitation!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
