Question: Are higher or lower tap shoes easier to dance in!?
I'm a begginer tap dancer (I love it so far!) and I got some shoes at Payless so I could save $$!. These ones are wretched though! They hurt my feet and don't sound since!. So I'm trying to decide whether to buy a 3/4" heel or 1 1/2 " heel!. what should I go with!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would definitely go for the lower heeled one!. High heeled tap shoes are kind of hard to dance in especially if you are just learning! When you get more advanced you can try the higher heeled ones but for know keep them low! They won't hurt your feet as bad!. Hope you have lots of fun with tapping!! I do!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would decide based on which is more comfortable for you (try them on in the store and do some shuffles) and also what the other girls in your class are wearing!. I know that at my dance school the teacher wanted us all to be uniform so make sure you find out before spending money on the shoes!.

I loved wearing the higher shoes though!.!.!. It felt so much more girlie and they gave a great sound! They took a little time getting used to because you dance on the balls of your feet, so it will be a bit different when you first get started!. Good luck though!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Definitely go with the 3/4" heel they'll be much easier to learn in!.

Try some shoes you have at home on with different size heels and try to tap in them then you will appreciate the difference!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
