Okay, recently this past 2 months ive been trying to work on my front splits!.!. At first i couldnt go down at all and now im a few inches far from doing the splits!. It hurts when i stretch and it takes me alot of stretching before i get to do them completely comfortable!.!. im still working on touching the ground but every time i do stretching my thighs in between crack!.!. it doesnt hurt much but sometimes it hurts and i cant go down at all!.!.
but its constantly cracking even when i try do the splits!.

Okay, well first of all as your older, it is harder to gain flexibility! You must take it slow!. Just remember to not get discouraged if you body is going slower than you want!. Splits is a talent, not everyyone has it and for you, your trying to get it! and you definetly can i just know it!.
Just make sure you run in place for about 5 minutes before you start to stretch!. Then stretch it oiut slowly!. if you can't touch your toes go as far as you can and hold it 25 seconds!. then instead of moving to the next stretch stand up and shake out your legs between every stretch!. One you are SURE your legs are perfectly wormed up, SLIDE into the splits!. go as far as you can without cracking!. Sometimes the cracking can come from When your hip bone isn't strong enough so you need you strengthen that if its the problem!. Make sure you are stretching both legs for the splits!. do the front splits with right and then with the left!. It will help your legs to be evenly flexible!.
If the cracking continues you need to see a doctor or possibly don't try to do the splits!.
i know you want to do them very bad but your body is to fragile to hurt!

Slow down!
Its best to warm up first, it might take some time to!. Since you havent done one before (im assuming) your muscles aren't used to it, or if you have before its out of practice!. After you do some good warm up!. *I suggest some hamstrings ect!.* slowly go down!. go as far as you can, and the hold it for 30 secounds!. make it longer next time, ex 60 secs!.
I'm in the same position!. I started dance, and my teacher says just about anyone can do a split in about 1 month!.
So make sure you dont slack off and skip a day!. You have to do atleast your warm ups everyday!.

are you practicing the splits by just doing to splites!?!?

When you're young, you're very supple!. That's why gymnasts often begin when they're around 5!. As you grow older you lose the flexibility!.
If it hurts, maybe you should stop trying, in case you tear/break something !.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should do more than just stretch before you try them, and if that doesn't work you should stop trying or aska dance teacher/gymnastics coach to help you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

strech before u strech!.!.!. when i do my splitz i get cracking 2 u should try 2 do some streches for your hips!.!.!. get them very loose also jogg and get all sweaty then try 2 do splitzWww@QuestionHome@Com
