Question:

I really want to own a dance studio in a few years!. I've already been doing ballet and tap for 2 years, and that's probably all i'm going to teach!. I've been going to dance camp every summer too, so I think by then i'll know MABEY enough to teach like, a beginer jazz class or something!. I want the studio to have Ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop lyrical, musical theater, pointe, and modern!. So I figure cause i'm gunna own it, it would be good to know a little more about other dance or even more about ballet and tap!. So I got a few questions for you:

1) What kind of dance do you do!?
2)What's your favorite!?
3)Give me 3-5 important facts about your favorite kind of dance espeshilly ifit's lyrical or modern!.

1!.)I've done :
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Leaps & Turns, and Pointe!.

2!.)My favorite is absolutely lyrical! (And modern if i did it, but i'm starting this year)

3!.) Lyrical for me, helps me to let things out that I can't talk about with people or things I think they won't understand!.
Lyrical is so free and unrestricted compared to ballet or pointe which is another reason why its my favorite!
An important fact about lyrical is that you need to be feeling emotion while your dancing it!. Don't just do the steps and make them perfect!. Think of how the dance and/or song connects to you in someway- if it talks about anger or sadness think of when you felt that way- and just let it all out!!

3) modern dance: keep flexible when you're young because your bones set when you become a teenager!. If you maintain your flexibility from a young age, you are less likely to lose it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!.I do ballet,hip hop,jazz & contemporary
2!.my fave is probably contemporary or ballet!.
3!.I think contemporary is the same as modern pretty much!.It's a fluid, emotional form of dance and it's really technical but more free than ballet!.If you keep working on your ballet technique it would be easy for you to pick up on contemporary or lyrical coz it's basically ballet technique but more flowing!.Even with jazz the ballet and tap would give you an adavantage!.coz you have your basic techniques in ballet an tap i think you'll find it easy to pick up on other dance forms!.good luck and i hope you have a dance school one day!.
