NO! NO NO NO NO and NO!

It is NOT too late to start! People need to understand that it is NEVER too late to start dancing!. And your age is actually a prime GREAT age to start!. I have friends in the dance department with me at college that start at 21 and catch up so easily and end up doing the hard core stuff that the rest of us are doing!. I've seen some dancers that start at 18-21 that end up dancing professionally!.

The only disadvantage you have at 20 is that you didn't get to dance for the 2+ extra years in the professional dance world!. But that just means that if you start at 20, you have a slightly shorter dance career!.

Sounds like to me that the disadvantage doesn't even apply to you because you don't seem like you are searching to dance professionally as a primary career!.

There are such things as adult classes!. A LOT of them actually!. And all sorts of levels!. Dance companies understand quite a few people just want to pick dance up as a side hobby later in life and not dance professionally!.

What I would suggest is:
1) If you're in college or live somewhat near a college (even a community college), ask someone (email or talk to them) if there are dance classes offered there!. MOST colleges have a dance department!. And most dance departments have dance classes offered to the public!. If you're attending that college, you can even just enroll in the class and maybe fulfill a PE requirement!.
2) Google dance classes!. Type where you live (e!.g!. Atlanta, Philadelphia, etc) and then type "adult dance classes"!. If you want a beginning type, I'd suggest typing "beginning ballet class"!. You can most likely get pay for a class card and just slip in and out of classes to find the one you like!.
3) If you by some chance live in Middle of Nowhere Town in somewhere like rural Montana (which should still have a dance class somewhere) and can't find a class within an hour of you!.!.!. You Tube is your best friend!.
Example: If you wanted to find demonstration/teaching videos of hip hop, type "Shane Sparks hip hop class"!.

If you want to learn the fundamental ballet moves, use this website:
http://www!.abt!.org/education/dictionary/!.!.!.
If you want to learn hip hop/salsa/etc:
http://www!.bustamove!.com/cgi-bin/scripts!.!.!.

And if you live in Atlanta, Atlanta Ballet has some great adult classes (I suggest Stacey Slichter's adult open classes)!. And Dance 101 is for adult dancers of every level and style!. Its a great place to dance!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's absolutely not too late!. I used to teach adult dance classes and had adults that ranged from age 25-45! It's great exercise and helps with posture, flexibility and muscle tone!. Plus, dance is a lot of fun and can be a great stress reliever!. Many dance studios offer adult classes!.!.!.just ask for a beginner adult class and you should be in with others in your age range!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
